The project involves the complete renovation of a fourth-floor apartment in Kolonaki. This single-level residence unfolds around the central staircase and occupies a total area of 200 m². The redesign was tailored to meet the living needs of a four-member family and includes an open-plan living area (living room – dining room – piano area), a separate kitchen, a maid’s room with en-suite bathroom, three bedrooms – one of which is a master bedroom with sauna–, an additional bathroom, a storage room, and a WC.
The primary objective of the renovation was to adapt the apartment to contemporary living standards and the current needs of urban habitation. Therefore, the previous layout with multiple partitions was reconfigured to create a spacious open-plan living area that connects directly to both the kitchen and the balcony, which functions as a natural extension of the interior, enhancing the sense of flow and openness.
Particular interest lies in the thoughtful selection and combination of materials throughout the interior spaces. The interplay between oak wooden flooring and various types of marble enriches the tactile and visual experience, resulting in a dynamic yet harmonious aesthetic. Bold color choices in the carpentry – especially in the children’s bedrooms, the kitchen, and the maid’s room – introduce a playful and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for daily life and hosting. Meanwhile, the stained glass details, arched openings in the living area, and natural wood veneer elements contribute to a sense of elegance and timelessness, lending the space character, refinement, and tranquility. The final result is a residence that balances functionality with refined aesthetics, fully aligned with the expectations of contemporary urban living.
