The project concerns the complete renovation of an apartment in Kypseli, with the architectural study carried out by G&A Evripiotis Architects. The apartment is developed on a single level and was redesigned with the aim of creating a contemporary and functional living space. The new layout is organized around an open-plan living area that includes the living room, dining area, and kitchen, while remaining clearly separated from the private bedroom zone.
The proposal was based on reducing internal subdivisions and establishing a clearer spatial organization. The kitchen is integrated into the main living area as a unified front, while the dining area acts as an intermediate core between the kitchen and the living room. Visual connections are maintained, enhancing the sense of openness despite the limited floor area.
Particular emphasis was placed on the use of materials and textures. Natural wood is extensively used in fixed furniture and flooring, adding warmth, while neutral, light-colored surfaces balance the composition and enhance brightness. The exposed concrete structural elements are preserved and highlighted, while the perforated claustra partition acts as a filter between different uses, allowing light to pass through without interrupting spatial continuity.
The result is a residence that balances functionality with a restrained aesthetic, creating a space suited to everyday living, with an emphasis on comfort, simplicity, and quality.
